Description of the Book:

vii, 64 p., [16] leaves of plates : 37 cm’, ‘The 20 listed plates included the added engraved t.p. and the end page, both with vignettes, 4 engraved tailpieces, and a double plate following p. 25. Most of the etchings with aquatint and stipple engravings are after Orme by James Godby, C. Knight, H. Merke, Scott, J. Swaine. However, the tailpieces on p. 22 and 29 are by W.M. Craig “from a design in the possession of Quinton Dick.” Some plates are hand-colored, with additional touches of varnish, and with the hand-coloring reinforced on the verso. The plate facing p. 63 consists of tipped-on specimens “of the coloured papers that produce the best imitation of Stained Glass” (not in the list of plates)’, ‘List of subscribers at end on pages numbered [i]-viii
