Description of the Book:

Collection of various sizes and types of papers; some typed and some handwritten; containing the numbers of students in and around Astoria for the years 1917 – 1924. Their parents, addresses, and siblings are also listed. Each year has a cream-colored paper divider with the year written in black Sharpie. Most of the typed papers are thin, translucent vellum that are too large for the hard covers and therefore have torn, ripped, and weathered edges. The covers are black on the outside and patterned on the inside. The front cover has a white rectangular label scotch-taped to the center of the top, with the included years and “Astoria” in black Sharpie. The pages and covers are held together with a silver binding mechanism on the top edge that has two screws that are released with the push of a button. The sticker on the inside front cover says “Loose Leaf, Bound Boooks/ Shepherd, Boorum, & Pease Company/ Brooklyn, N.Y./ Made in U.S.A/ 6215 1/2 PB.” Stuck onto the company sticker is a price tag from “Astoria Office Appliance Co.” with the price of “$6.60.” Size of black covers:10″ x 12.25″ Size of longest papers extending beyond covers:
