Holograph, signed’, ‘Title devised by cataloger’, ‘Copy of the original letter’, ‘On verso, the delivery address is “Mrs. Amos A. Phelps. Wrentham. Mass.” It was postmarked on Apr. 18, in Boston’, ‘In this letter to Charlotte Phelps, the wife of Amos A. Phelps, Mary Grew, the corresponding secretary of the Boston Female Anti-Slavery Society, expresses her regret in having lost Mrs. Phelps as its member and valuable officer due to her moving away from Boston. She informs Mrs. Phelps of the decision of the society to make her (Mrs. Phelps) a lifetime members of the New England Anti-Slavery Society as a token of esteem
