Description of the Book:

Scattering of electromagnetic waves from an infinite cylinder of uniform but complex dielectric constant is discussed. The purpose is to make available a set of curves showing the dependence of transmission and reflection coefficients and their phases on plasma frequency and cylinder radius. Two different collision frequencies are used. All quantities have been normalized to eliminate the dependence on the operating frequency and the distance between the transmitting and receiving horns. The incident wave is assumed to be a plane wave traveling in a direction normal to the cylinder axis. Both the transverse magnetic case and the transverse electric case are considered
