Description of the Book:

The purpose of this 12 month program is to develop a 40 kilovolt-megawatt average power thyratron. Electrical objectives are to swtich 40 kiloamperes at 40 kilovolts with a pulse width of 10 microseconds and a repetition rate of 125 hertz. A thyratron design to meet these objectives has been evolved. The design has been evaluated for thermal and mechanical characteristics.
