Description of the Book:

Solid lubricated bearings utilizing a carbonized phenolic resin composite cage have been evaluated. Functional tests using 204 size bearings were run under ambient conditions at speeds up to 10,000 rpm. The average life of the five bearings tested was 18 1/4 hours with the maximum life being less than 50 hours. No further testing of these particular materials is anticipated. (Author
