Description of the Book:

The computational complexity of a nonlinear system identification technique is evaluated in this report. The identification technique uses a black box approach requiring measurements only at system input and output terminals and is applicable to weakly nonlinear systems whose behavior is adequately characterized by a finite Volterra Series. The computational aspects of the technique are evaluated in terms of the complexity of the calculations and the complexity of the system being implemented. Techniques for reducing the order of the second order response are investigated. These techniques include restricted frequency range, integration time control, and dominant pole concepts. The class of systems to which the technique can be applied is evaluated
