Work under this contract is summarized. Five technical reports have been issued. The effect of molecular parameters – vibrational eigenstate density and intermolecular attractive potential – on gas-surface vibrational energy transfer – has been documented. The VEM technique has been refined to single collision measurements that provide a more sensitive test of energy transfer models. Study of cyclopropane to 1300 K shows a decline in collision efficiency with rise of temperature. Strong collision behavior is found at low gas-surface temperatures. (Author
