More Book Details

Description of the Book:

Powders of Nd3+, Sr2+, and Pb2+ Beta aluminas were prepared by ion exchange of Na+ beta alumina. On heating to temperatures ranging from 850 C to 1700 C, XRD analysis indicates that Nd3+, and Pb2+ beta aluminas start to decompose at around 1100C. Sr2+ beta alumina remains unaffected to temperatures of 1300 C. The mechanism of the decomposition process and the resultant phase trasformations are different for each case. Keywords: Beta Alumina, ion exchange, X ray diffraction, phase transformations, Neodymium, Strontium, Lead
