Description of the Book:

This report contains wave data summaries for 1989 and for 1985 through 1989. The individual wave height and peak spectral wave period values along with the monthly mean values are displayed. Annual and monthly joint distributions tables are presented. Each table gives the frequency for which the wave height and peak period were within the specified intervals. Annual and monthly wave height distributions for 1989 are plotted in cumulative form. Annual and monthly peak wave period, distribution histograms for 1989 are presented. The number of times in 1989 when the specified wave height was equaled or exceeded at least once during each day is shown. Monthly spectra for the offshore Waverider buoy are presented. The plots show relative energy density as a function of wave frequency. These figures summarize the large number of spectra for each month. The figures emphasize the higher energy density associated with storms as well as the general shifts in energy density to different frequencies.
