Description of the Book:

This study was designed to examine the feasibility of using visual-vestibular mismatch software to produce disorienting events in flight within a standardized simulator flight profile. Data were examined in order to ensure that collection of standard flight performance measures was not interrupted by the addition of disorienting events. Twenty-one UH-6O qualified Army aviators flew a 1-hour UH-60 simulator flight profile containing three visual-vestibular mismatch events (visual and vestibular divergence used, 4 degrees per sec with pitch, 6 degrees per sec with roll, and 8 degrees per sec with drift) . Following the flight, aviators filled out a simulator sickness questionnaire and rated each event in terms of difficulty of aircraft control recovery
