Description of the Book:

The purpose of the study is to gain new knowledge about the experiences of family members of service members who are experiencing symptoms of PTSD or severe depression. The study is multi-method, with an initial qualitative phase, and a follow-up longitudinal, quantitative phase. During Year 2, the first several months continued to focus primarily on securing a site for the study. After a variety of efforts in collaboration with Walter Reed National Military Medical Center and NRMC Tele-health, a firm partnership was established with Ft. Belvoir Community Hospital (FBCH). A CRADA was established, and logistics and procedures were finalized. IRB documents were submitted and are currently under review. Recruitment materials were developed and are also under review. Although this places us behind with regard to the proposed statement of work, the study is still quite feasible to complete by budgeting for a no-cost extension
