Description of the Book:

The policies and procedures of the Association for Intercollegiate Athletics for Women (AIAW) are the focus of this handbook. The first part of the document deals with the history and structure of the AIAW and includes eligibility requirements for the different types of membership; the constitution and bylaws of the organization; its code of ethics for players, coaches, administrators, and spectators; and position papers on intercollegiate athletic activities for women, women on men’s teams, and regulations for the awarding of financial aid to student athletes. The second part of the document presents policies for AIAW institutions and procedures for the national championships it sponsors.
