More Book Details
Description of the Book:
The purpose of the Profiling System is to provide diagnostic and instructional resources to regular and special education teachers. The Profiling System is based on research and literature in psychological type and learning style. It combines the literature in these areas with academic and perceptual assessment instruments to screen for learning difficulties in elementary-age children. The results of these assessments are then used to suggest teaching strategies and interventions in the forms of remediations, modifications, and accommodations. The Profiling System is intended to help teachers in preparing learning objectives that are a better match to the student’s ability level and learning preferences. This paper reviews the Profiling System’s relevance, structure, and content. The System was created to account for individual differences in learning and to identify learner preferences to modified and diversified instructional delivery. To refine the Profiling System, it will be used with at least 20 teachers in the Houston (Texas) area for 3 consecutive grading periods.
An appendix contains versions of the Profiling System. (Contains 27 references.) (Author/SLD
