Description of the Book:

This guide provides descriptions of 2,008 summer and short-term academic and language study-abroad programs that range in length from one-week to several months. Introductory sections provide information on the Institute of International Education (IIE), IIE publications, the use of the guide, planning study abroad, and 78 publications and 34 websites on study and research abroad and funding opportunities. The majority of the guide consists of individual program descriptions, arranged geographically by region and country. In addition to specific country and city listings, there is a “worldwide” section for programs that are active in more than one region. Each listing provides information on program sponsor, name of the program, program site, dates, subjects of study and opportunities to learn foreign languages, eligibility, credit, instructional methods and language(s) of instruction, costs, housing, deadlines, other information, and contact points. Programs are indexed by program sponsor, consortia, field of study, special options, cost, and duration.
