Holograph, signed with initials’, ‘In Harrisburg, William Lloyd Garrison enjoyed the hospitality of Dr. Rutherford and his wife. At the meeting that evening there was a small turnout of only 25 people due to the fact that it was the night before the election. Nevertheless, Garrison gave a speech that lasted an hour and a half. He had a hoarse throat at the start of the speech and now fears being voiceless at the Salem anniversary meeting. Garrison describes Altoona and the region.
