The circular consists of letters written in January through February 1841 by the Glasgow abolitionists John Murray, H. Heugh, William Kidston, Joseph Sturge, William Smeal, and Ralph Wardlaw about a variety of issues and controversies, including John Anderson Collins, the American abolitionists, the American Anti-Slavery Society, and the “woman question,” etc
