Introduction: Infective and Inflammatory pathology of Lacrimal sac which is located between the medial canthus of the eye and nose is called as Dacryocystitis. It is an important cause of ocular morbidity in India. It has higher incidence among lower socio economic status. Objective: The goal of the present study was to find the occurrence of Chronic Dacryocystitis in rural area and to correlate it with socioeconomic status. Material & Methods: Our study is a cross-sectional hospital based study conducted from January 2019 to December 2019 in MVJ Medical College and Research Hospital, Hoskote. Results: The Present study shows maximum number of patients belonged to the age group of 61-70 years (26.4%). Females were affected predominantly (52.8%). Most of the patients belonged to class III (39.6%) & V (35.8%) of Revised B.G Prasad Socio-economic classification update 2019. Conclusion: There is a correlation between Chronic Dacryocystitis with Low Socioeconomic status.
