Tail of spine on front cover includes gilt seal reading “Boston Public Library”. Spine includes shelf mark label affixed at tail, and spine title in gilt. Front cover disbound from spine. Front pastedown includes affixed ex libris (bookplate) of the Boston Public Library, with shelf mark in black ink script, identifying the Bates Fund as the source of acquisition of copy. Title absent. Preface includes a number of annotations and markings in pencil script, along with perforation stamp of the Boston Public Library.
